Delacroix work as a painter and muralist inspired many renowned artists from the history such as Picasso who was really impressed after looking at his work at Le Louvre. But before that, Monet has been one of the first great admirers. Indeed, the work of Impressionists got deeply shaped with Delacroix’s use of expressive brushstrokes. Claude Monet became obsessed with the way the Romantic painter dared showing his own way or painting. The Barque of Dante scandalized French society at the time, in 1822.

Life of Delacroix in Paris was quite spread apart as he used to live in the right bank but spent his final years on the other side of La Seine in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Illness obliged him to get closer to where he was working since it was becoming difficult for him to travel every day. He spent almost a decade on the epic decorations for the Chapel of the Holy Angels in the church of Saint-Sulpice.

Our Delacroix experience will take you to different locations in Paris where the painter used to work or enjoy his time. We will share his life during a day.
